Reading for the week ahead: Psalm 14

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said! Come, see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him.’ See, I have told you.”… Matthew 28: 5-7

Monday 2nd: Residents in Albion Rd. & Church Wardens, A.L.M’s, Readers.
Help us to live as new people in pursuit of the Christian ideal. Grant us wisdom to know what we must do, the will to want to do it, the courage to undertake it, the perseverance to continue to do it, and the strength to complete it.

Tuesday 3rd: Residents in Anderby Walk & PCC Members, Treasurer & Secretary
Jesus answered, “All those who drink this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring which will provide him with life-giving water and give him eternal life”. John 4: 13-14.

Wednesday 4th: Residents in Bamber Croft & Organist and Choir.
Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:39.

Thursday 5th: Residents in Barnaby’s Rd., Bristle Hall Way. & Lay Eucharist Assts.
May we learn from each other how to give, how to receive, how, in joy, to celebrate and how, in pain, to grieve; how to fight for what is right yet not do any wrong; how to be the family to which we all belong.

Friday 6th: Residents in Chorley Rd, The Meadows & Sidespersons, Intercessors.
We are not primarily put on this earth to see through one another, but to see one another through. Peter Devries.

 Saturday 7th: Residents in Dicconson Lane, Team & Healing Ministries. 

 God will show us the way, because that’s what good shepherds do. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Psalm 23: 2-3.

Lord, you search for us and find us. Thank you for making us Your own. Amen


Tuesday 10th: Residents in Croft St. Dixon St. Westchapel Mews & Men’s Grp.

Our interest in heaven grows as we deposit our treasures there! For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:54.


Wednesday 11th: Residents in Dixon Crt. & Wingates Residential Home.

Our hearts can rest peacefully in the promises of God. The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made. Psalm 145:13.


Thursday 12th: Residents in Fawcett’s Fold & Housebound, Emergency Services.

We pray for those for whom today is like the windswept mountain, give them comfort. We pray for those whom today is like a stormy sea, give them calm. We pray for those whom today is like the darkest night, give them hope. Amen


Friday 13th: Residents in Greensmith’s Way & Brownies, Tiddliwinks Grps.

When I feel the touch of Your hand upon my life, it causes me to sing a song, that I love you Lord. So from deep within my spirit singeth unto Thee, you are my King, you are my God, and I love you, Lord. Hymn 753.


Saturday 14th:  Residents in Hardy Close & Gardeners, Flower Arrangers.

Monday 16th: Residents in James St. & Children’s Church & Helpers.

God’s plan is always better than our own. We can fight against it and resemble a misplaced weed. Or we can accept His direction and become flourishing, fruitful plants in His garden. He leaves the choice with us. Lord, please forgive us for those times when we act as if You have planted us in the wrong place. Help us to see what You have for us to do today. Amen.


Tuesday 17th: Residents in Lever St. & Social Events.

God always has an open ear and a ready hand, if you have an open and ready heart. Take your groanings and your sighs to God and He will answer you. C H Spurgen.

Pray so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing but the body is weak. Matthew 26:41


Thursday 19th: Residents in Part St. & 8.00am Service & Congregation

Lord we pray, that you will be with us as we walk along life’s stony paths. Be our guide, our light and our help in times of need. Thank you Lord. Amen.


Friday 20th: Residents in Plough Fields & 9.30am Service & Congregation.

One song can change a moment, one idea can change a world, one step can start a journey, but a prayer can change the impossible.


Saturday 21st: Residents in Rycroft Drive and Baptism Families.

Even in the midst of our own dark hours, we can trust Him to lead us forward to a place of goodness. As we walk with Him, we too will learn to trust increasingly in His faithfulness. My Father’s house has many rooms;… I am going there to prepare a place for you. John 14:2.

Jesus, You are the name above all names, our Saviour and Lord. We lift our praise to You as we celebrate Your presence and power in our lives today. At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:10.


Monday 23rd: Residents in Seddon St. & The Industrial Estates.

St. George’s Day - God of hosts, who so kindled the flame of love in the heart of your servant George that he bore witness to the risen Lord by his life and by his death: give us the same faith and power of love that we who rejoice in his triumphs may come to share with him the fullness of the resurrection. Amen

Tuesday 24th: Residents in St. John’s Ave. & Car Showrooms and Car Drive.

Ask, and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7


Wednesday 25th: Residents in St. John’s Crt. & Small Businesses, Public Houses.

Some people brought children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples scolded the people. When Jesus noticed this, he was angry and said to his disciples, “Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God  belongs to such as these. I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it”. Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them. Mark 10: 13-16.


Thursday 26th: Residents in The Croft & Farmers and Agriculture.

In all I do and all I say, let Your love abound through me. On every path that my life takes, let Your light shine out of me. In things that are seen and things that are hidden, I’ll seek to delight Your heart, O God. For nothing is mine that You have not given; I’ll honour You, Lord with my whole life. Hymn 1307.

Lift up your eyes, there is beauty all around you!

Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing. Isaiah 40:26


Saturday 28th: Residents in Willow Bank & Our Church Building, Churchyard.

Come into my soul, Lord, as the dawn breaks into the sky; let your sun rise in my heart at the coming of the day. Amen

‘April showers bring May flowers’. A popular rhyme. As we now leave April behind, let us give thanks to God for the March winds and the April showers as we look forward to the May flowers remembering and giving thanks to our Lord for the beauty of all creation.
